about the projectsAN AMERICAN REINVESTMENT AND RECOVERY ACT PROJECT

Construction of this project was funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), sometimes referred to as the federal stimulus. A total of $437.9 million was authorized for use by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on road and bridge projects and these dollars are being invested across the Commonwealth in transportations projects, like Route 24 Interchange 8B, to create jobs today and spur future economic development. This project, which facilitates development of the Fall River Executive Park, represents an excellent use of ARRA funding by providing construction jobs today and setting the stage for further development and new jobs in the South Coast area. To learn more about how ARRA funding is being used to support transportation improvements in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, please visit http://www.massdot.state.ma.us/recovery/.
